Американский президент Дональд Трамп намерен провести встречу со спонсорами своей предвыборной кампании на курорте Мар-а-Лаго (штат Флорида). Об этом сообщает Politico со ссылкой на трех членов Республиканской партии, знакомых с ситуацией.
«Трамп появится перед крупными спонсорами на своем курорте в Мар-а-Лаго в субботу для запуска сбора средств, имитирующего знаменитую программу «Пионер» Джорджа Буша-младшего», — пишет издание. Как поясняет Politico, Трамп также намерен включить инвесторов в «спецкатегории» людей, наиболее приближенных к нему. В том числе таким спонсорам будет открыт доступ на закрытые обеды и брифинги.
Активисты, пожертвовавшие $25 тыс., войдут в категорию «Локомотив Трампа», а те, кто вложит $45 тыс., станут частью «Клуба 45». Категория для внесения более крупных сумм будет «анонсирована позднее». Деньги в том числе будут направлены на промежуточные выборы в конгресс США 2018 года.
«Пионеры» Джорджа Буша — активисты, собравшие на его кампанию к выборам 2004 года крупную сумму, президент также включал их в приближенные к себе группы. Среди спонсоров оказались и деловые партнеры Буша — Мерсер Рейнольдс и Уильям ДеВитт, их Буш назначил послом США в Швейцарии и послом США в Словакии соответственно.
Ранее Дональд Трамп сделал еще один шаг к подготовке к выборам президента США 2020 года. В конце февраля телеканал CNBC сообщил, что президент назначил менеджера кампании по своему переизбранию — политтехнолога Брэда Парскейла. О том, что Трамп намерен участвовать в следующей президентской гонке, сообщал Белый дом.
В администрации президента утверждали, что соперникам нынешнего лидера Соединенных Штатов придется столкнуться с «рекордными достижениями» Трампа, которых тот сумел добиться «в рекордные сроки». В их числе Белый дом назвал создание рабочих мест, повышение зарплат и сокращение налогов, а также борьбу с боевиками террористической группировки «Исламское государство» (запрещена в России).
